CHURCH FAMILY NEWS

Notes from Kimberlyn Horton . . .

Hello,
Thank you for the love and support for the Brittain family as they welcome their little baby boy. As a newborn is a blessing and stress, we would like to help by providing meals. Please, drop off meals for Sallyann, Kyle, and Sienna around 5PM. Please, keep visits shorts to give them time to bond with the baby and get much needed rest.

Thank you and God bless you all!

We've scheduled meals through TAKE THEM A MEAL. You can access the website here ►take them a meal The schedule is under the name BRITTAIN and the passcode is 3433.

Sunday's Message
September 17, 2017

TELL EVERYONE

Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of a day when people would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.  Peter said, “God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34).  The half brother of Jesus wrote, “Do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism” (James 2:1).  He also wrote, “If you show partiality you are committing sin” (James 2:9).  God created all people in his image (Genesis 1:27).  Christ died for all (John 3:16).  The Holy Spirit will love everyone through you if you let him (1 John 4:16; Galatians 5:22).

Last Sunday I preached about Jesus’ conversation with the Jewish teacher and ruler Nicodemus.  This Sunday I’m preaching about Jesus’ conversation with someone very different, the blatantly sinful Samaritan woman at the well.  The sermon is entitled “Tell Everyone” from John 4:7-26.  We should follow Jesus’ example and tell everyone about his abundant, eternal life!  We try to be discerning and only tell the right people at the right time.  This usually means we end up telling no one!  I think we should be more like the sower in Jesus’ parable of the seeds.  He spread the seed everywhere.  Jesus said the seed represents God’s word.  As we tell everyone we can about the Word without prejudice then God will add the increase.

I’m praying for a good turnout at our Witnessing Clinic September 23, at 9:00.  Be praying for us!  Meanwhile, tell everyone you can about the abundant life that Jesus offers the world!

With love in Christ,
Dr. Jim Meek

Bill Agee, Executive Director

The California Mission Offering is a great opportunity to make a Kingdom difference because it touches ministries that are statewide. The prayer and offering emphasis also allows congregations to be a part of something bigger than themselves to help win the 33 million Californians who don’t know Jesus.
