Sunday's Message, January 8, 2017

Be Free

People long for freedom.
Our nation was built on that longing.
We’ve tried to export freedom around the world.

The greatest freedom is found in Christ, Jesus said, “If the Son of Man makes you free you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).  What does Christ mean?  To many people Christianity isn’t freedom but an added list of do’s and don’ts.

Freedom in Christ means
a total dependence on him.
Imagine that! The freedom to live
through the power of the God
who created the universe!
When we learn to do that
we’ll soar on eagles’ wings
(Isaiah 40:31).

Please come to church this Sunday as we’ll explore how to be free.

I’ll be preaching from Romans 7:18-8:4 where Paul reveals the key to freedom from sin and self.

Let’s look forward to a new year of freedom!

With love in Christ,
Dr. Jim Meek

I Will Offer to God My Spiritual Worship with My Financial Gifts

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

Thank you for your gifts given to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Your gifts will be given directly to those in need. As we give to those in need they will give thanks and praise to God.

Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.  2 Corinthians 9:11-12

Remember to suppor our Southern Baptist work with your financial gifts as well as through prayer. Strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22
