CHURCH FAMILY NEWS
Notes from Kimberlyn Horton . . .
Thank you for the love and support for the Brittain family as they welcome their little baby boy. As a newborn is a blessing and stress, we would like to help by providing meals. Please, drop off meals for Sallyann, Kyle, and Sienna around 5PM. Please, keep visits shorts to give them time to bond with the baby and get much needed rest.
Thank you and God bless you all!
We've scheduled meals through TAKE THEM A MEAL. You can access the website here ►take them a meal The schedule is under the name BRITTAIN and the passcode is 3433.

Monday I was having my prayer time on my bike. I saw an elderly man sitting on the chair attached to his walker under a tree. I said, "Hi!" but when I got home I felt the need to ride back and introduce myself. His name is Cliff. I asked him about his life and then I asked if he'd been raise in a church. He had gone to a community church but had fallen away. He gets visited often by Jehovah Witnesses. I told him that we're all sinners, that sin separates us from God and that Jesus received our sins and died in our place. I told how Jesus was raised from the dead and offers eternal, abundant Life through his Holy Spirit. Cliff prayed with me to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. Then he told me that he would put this experience in his journal, and he thanked me for making his day. I gave him Scriptures to read and showed him where I live so he could call on me if he needed anything. He then mentioned that my wife waves to him whenever she drives by.
It would've been easy for me to have found excuses for not sharing with Cliff. But I decided I needed to be bold. It was God who witnessed through me, but God used the church where Cliff attended as a child, and in the weird way he even used the Jehovah Witnesses to pique Cliff's curiosity in the Bible. Finally, God used the spontaneous sweetness of my wife.
Join the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us and are working with us.
Whenever you tell someone about Jesus you are doing so with the Lord working through you and with the aid of those who have gone before you.
This Sunday I'm preaching on "Tell Boldly" from Acts 9:17-28. When Saul of Tarsus received Christ he began saying boldly that Jesus is the Son of God. He's the first one to do so in the book of Acts as recorded by Luke! He was persecuted for it, but he continued to be bold. Let's follow his example. Join us this Saturday at 9:00 am as I teach you how to witness boldly yet winsomely.
By the way, Kim Stinson has resigned as our Children's Director so she can devote more time to being our Preschool Director and so she can care for her husband Richard as he goes through therapy. We love and appreciate Kim and Richard so much! Please thank them for their service, pray for them and continue to work with them for God's glory.
With love in Christ,
Dr. Jim Meek

The California Mission Offering is a great opportunity to make a Kingdom difference because it touches ministries that are statewide. The prayer and offering emphasis also allows congregations to be a part of something bigger than themselves to help win the 33 million Californians who don’t know Jesus.
