Sunday's Message, February 5, 2017

Love Before It's Too Late

Each month I’ll be preaching on a different topic.  This month I’m preaching on love.

Jesus said that people will know we’re Christians by our love (John 13:35). Paul said that without love we’re nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2).  Love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).  Jesus summed up the Scripture with the commandments to love God and others (Matthew 22:36-40).  John said that if we say that we love God but hate our brother then we’re liars (1 John 4:20).  Love gives joy to us, others and God.  So, let’s love others (Luke 9:23)

This Sunday I’ll be preaching on, “Love before It’s too Late” from Song of Solomon 5:2-10.  Also, we’ll have the Lord’ Supper.  By the way, the Early Church called the Lord’s Supper a Love Feast!  Please join us this Sunday!

I felt the love this last Saturday when we had over 40 people at our workday!

Also, men will share in a prayer breakfast this Saturday at 7:00 in the Fellowship Hall.  The theme will be, “Unity.”  I love it!

With love in Christ,
Dr. Jim Meek
