ANTICIPATE
April 19, 2025

Usually, anticipation can hurt you. If a married person, with children, comes home, expecting the house to be clean, the meal to be ready and the kids to be calm, that person is setting himself or herself up for disappointment and anger.
However, some anticipation is great! If we by faith anticipate that God is working everything for good, then we can smile even when times are rough.
The astronauts on Artemis II, who were the first humans to go around the dark side of the moon, anticipated coming home to family and friends. Even though they wouldn’t have traded their adventure for anything in the world, the anticipation of returning home captivated them.
One of the astronauts, Victor Glover, said upon his return, “I wanted to thank God in public, and I want to thank God again.”
Let’s anticipate God’s blessings. As we travel through life, let’s thank God.
Sunday I’m preaching on “Anticipate” from Isaiah 35. We’ll look at “Anticipate a Bright Future,” verses 1-2; “Encourage Others,” verses 3-5; “Anticipate Healing,” verse 6; and “Anticipate Pure Joy,” verses 7-10. Please come and learn to anticipate God’s blessings as we go hurling through space on planet earth.
Love,
Jim Meek

CATCH THE VISION!
Please join our seminar at El Camino Baptist, on “Catch the Vision!” This is a must for our ministry leaders, but all are invited.
It will be held on April 25, at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. There will be a few snacks to begin the class.
We will study Jesus’ vision statement for the church and how it applies to El Camino, to you and your family, and how it fits with your Spiritual gifts, background, passions and ministries.
We all need to be on the same page as a church, so please come, pray for us, and be praying for what God will teach us!
Love,
Jim Meek
