Our Vision/Mission/Goals

We Are a Good News Church!

Our vision: To see everyone come to know Jesus and become like Him.

The Bible tells us, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6)

The Apostle Paul tells us, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Our mission: To tell everyone about the Good News of Jesus.

Jesus commanded us,

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

The Good News is for everyone. How do we put this into practice?

By creating a culture of discipleship. What is discipleship in the church? –  Learning the teachings of Jesus and imitating the details of his life. (2 Timothy 2:2; Philippians 3:7-11)

By maintaining constant intercessory prayer. Only in partnering with God in prayer will it be possible to accomplish true biblical discipleship (Acts 2:42).

By a strong commitment to Bible study in Sunday school and small groups. – We all need the Word of God in our lives. No one is too young or too old to learn and practice what the Bible says (2 Timothy 2:15).

By partaking in Baptism. This is a symbol of what has taken place by faith in your life. It demonstrates to others that you are ready to live this new life through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; John 14:26).

By creating a heart for missions. – Go into all the world and to your neighbor. We accomplish this in our ministries by highlighting the need for a missional attitude, through missional giving to the Regional Baptist Network and our Southern Baptist Convention Association. We work together with our community partners for the betterment of the community (Acts 1:8).

By encouraging an attitude of service. – As members of El Camino Baptist Church, we are the church! It is not a building. The way the church thrives is God’s people use their gifts to love one another and take care of the Lord’s house (Deuteronomy 10:12-13; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31).
