WIN PEACEFULLY

Years ago, I counseled a dedicated couple. They were so upset with each other that they yelled at each other during the counseling session!
I encouraged them to begin again, to start their relationship all over, to date each other and have fun together.
They stayed together. They had a beautiful daughter. She was so pretty that President Reagan saw her at the Reno airport and said, “What a pretty little girl!”
Eventually that young daughter died. She’s in heaven now, but I know her parents are glad that they stayed together, as a role model for their daughter, and so that they could strengthen each other in their grief.
Sunday I’m preaching on “Rejoice Confidently as You Begin Again” from 1 Peter 1:3-13. We will look at “Bless God Who Gives Us a New Start,” verses 3-5; “Rejoice in that New Start,” verses 6-9; and “Place Your Hope in God’s Grace,” verses 10-13.
Peter in Rome wrote to Christians who were undergoing persecution. As he encouraged them to start their lives over through God’s grace, so might we begin again in 2026.

We need help with our Wednesday Night Meals for the Winter/Spring 2026. By volunteering for at least one Wednesday night, we can insure no one is doing all the work.

This entails shopping (the church will pay the bill), preparing a meal for about 70 children and adults, and cleaning up. Betty Allen will meet with you and help you understand the commitment.
